Chapter Five

Alec was going out of his mind.

He knew how to serve, knew how to obey, but this desire… It was new. He schooled himself that this was simply new. New relationship energy was heady. Fascinating.

Benj walked along beside him, their hands linked, Benj swinging them together as they walked to the diner, which was apparently just down the street from Benj’s place.

“What do you do for a living, if you don’t mind me asking?” Alec was curious.

“I’m working on my BA in science. I’m taking my time with it -- originally because I was working at the bookstore to support myself, and then Granda died and well, I have the money now. I’m trying to get used to that, you know?”

He didn’t really, but he nodded. “I’m going to retire, after our contract.”

“Yeah?” Benj frowned and then gave a short laugh. “I find I don’t like thinking about us and ending. What are you going to do? Retiring is for old people.”

“I guess I’ll sleep on the beach…” He hadn’t thought about it.

Benj looked a little alarmed at that.

Alec smiled. “I have two years to worry.”

“Yeah. Two years is a long time. Who knows what will happen.” Benj squeezed his hand and tugged him over to the little silver bullet diner across the road.

“Yes. A month ago, I thought…” He stopped, shrugged. His old life didn’t belong here.

“Sit anywhere you want,” a waitress told them as they went in.

“You want to sit at the counter or a booth?” Benj asked him.

“A booth. Please.” The booths had cushions.

Benj’s eyes danced -- his master knew. He kept his face schooled, though. He wasn’t new at this. Benj picked one of the booths at the back. He sat gingerly, that plug rocking inside him.

“Oh, that’s a good look on you.”

Alec’s lips parted, his whole body waking up.

“And that one’s even better.” Benj looked at him like he was the hottest thing ever.

“Thank you.” He couldn’t stop blushing like a teenager.

The waitress came over with the pot of coffee. “You guys know what you want or you need a minute?”

“I’d like a strawberry milkshake instead of the coffee please. And waffles with strawberries and whipped cream for me.” Benj smiled across at him. “If you haven’t decided yet, that’s okay.”

“Coffee, orange juice, pancakes and bacon.” Alec was going to indulge.

“Oh, bring lots of bacon.” Benj beamed at him.

Alec chuckled. “Crispy bacon.”

“Lots of crispy bacon.”

“Gotcha.” The waitress filed his coffee cup. “I’ll be back with the juice and shake in a minute.”

“Thank you.”

He wiggled, the plug shifting inside him. Benj watched him move, a soft smile on his lips, eyes bright.

“Sorry.” Alec unwrapped his silverware.

“Sorry?” Benj frowned at him.

“For wiggling.”

“Does it feel good when you do?”

“It’s exciting.”

“Well, I didn’t say you weren’t allowed to…”

“No.” Alec felt the corners of his mouth curl up.

“Then I guess you can do it.” Benj was back to smiling.

They chuckled together, then looked at each other, the quiet stretching out.

“So what did you do before you…” Benj waved a hand between them.
